GW8: Redemption of the Magnificent Slab Head 🗿🔥

Published on October 23, 2025 at 10:22 PM

Aaaaaaaaand we're back! And we're here to talk about FPL and FPL only. We had an absolutely crazy week filled with surprises and familiar faces turning up big for everyone's squads. And out the goodness of my own heart and for no other reason whatsoever, we got 8 epic frosty spins on the way! 🍦 Let's see how everyone's favorite teams faired!

Week in Review

Nottingham Forest (0) - Red Card FC (3) 🟥

Another week, another Red card for the Blues, this time courtesy of Mr. Gusto. But also a commanding W over what may be Ange's last premier league game. Goals from Acheampong, the wrong Pedro, and the Reece James the Phoenix put the nail in Ange's coffin. The return of Dyche ball is here for all Chris Wood fans to rejoice.

Brighton (2) - Newcastle (1)

Look out Beef, it's Danny Welbeck here to ruin your week! 😂😂😂😂 A quality brace from the lad, including a decisive 84th min goal overshadowed a Woltemade masterclass cheeky finish to hand Midcastle another L for the year. Obligatory lmaoooooo for another classic Newcastle L. Saudi Kits look kinda fresh tho.

Burnley (2) - Leeds (0)

Please stop telling me Leeds is not mid. Goals from Ugochukwu and Tchaouna settled this epic mid-off

Crystal Palace (3) - Bournemouth (3)

A massive hatty from Mateta has created a bit of separation in the league, while Kroupi bagged a brace and Christie snuck one in. Semenyo refuses to blank as these teams tied on the day. May be time to trade out Joao Pedro for Mateta..

Man City (2) - Everton (0)

Haaland! Haaland! Another Brace for the king of FPL! ⚔️

Sunderland (2) - Wolves (0)

Sunderland getting the results to stay top 8, an early goal from Mukiele and an own goal from Krejci settled the score.

Arsenal (1) - Fulham (0)

Don't look now but Arsenal have a full game lead in the table, and they are firing on all cylinders and getting results. I gotta hand it to em, they look like the clear front runners with Pool absolutely sucking ass (more on this later), and there's absolutely no way they lose it from here on out. Congrats on winning the league Arsenal, no waaaay you bottle this one and CL later in the season! Goal from Trossard and assist + MOTM for Gabriel. The Set Piece Merchants strike again. 😡

Spurs (1) - Villa (2)

After a hot start from Tottenham in the 5th min courtesy of Bentancur, they absolutely fumbled the bag to a struggling Villa who lost to the likes of..checks notes..the Go Ahead Eagles?? I'd lay into Tottenham a bit more if Tottenham fans watched their team play, in the mean time, they've fallout out of top 5 and will look to get their mojo back this week. Goals from Rogers and Buendia from Villa to banish Spurs back to the Mid Realm

Liverpool (1) - Man U (2)

I gotta say, the MHGOTW don't miss, and boy was this an epic one. Liverpool began the game by absolutely shitting their own bed at home by letting Mbuemo bag a one time finish from a beautiful trivela assist from Amad. Man U held strong, to keep the lead, but a late Gakpo equalizer had everyone on edge and Liverpool seemed prime to steal yet another late victory.

But then, the unthinkable happened, after Manchester United rotated their players and discovered Liverpool's Kryptonite...headers, Maguire came up massive for the Red Devils yet again, rewriting the script on himself and solidifying himself and club hero instead of club meme. I gotta say, Harry's indomitable spirit has won me over, the guy's been through it all and never quit. Thanks to him, Man U secured their first W at Anfield in 10 years and second win in a row (despite 8 min of stoppage time), and Liverpool continued their hilarious freefall. Is this the turning point for Man U back to top 4? All I know is Man U is 1-0 after Niall got married and seem to have their swagger back 💪

Are Liverpool the new Tottenham? Only time will tell! 😃

West Ham (0) - Brentford (2)

The Bees may have Alea's team relegated when all is said and done. West Ham are stiiiiiiinky. Goals from Thiago and Jensen decided this one.

Big Brain Plays of the Week 🌌🧠

HM: Me, for putting together my first set of locks to all hit together. You're welcome! Tail me this week!

3. Haaland truthers, we still up big. If you're not captaining him by now, thanks in advance for the jersey purchase

2. Gabriel players, assist, clean sheet, and 3 bonus points for the week. 12 big points for the biggest baby in the league.

1. Mateta + Munoz starters, what an absolute payoff for y'all, not many hatty's so far this season.

Top Dawg ⬆️🐶

V4 Van de Vendetta - 90pts

Don't look now, but r/Salih has officially cracked the top 10 after an absolutely masterful week courtesy of a well-timed bench boost, or as i like to call it, the Anti-Gavin. The former champion and last year's runner up put together the strongest showing of the week thanks to Munoz, Rogers, Bruno (no longer Blanko), Rogers, Semenyo, and Captain Haaland. Add in 23 bench points and boom, Top Dawg. Hats of the the lad, take a bow!

Bottom Dawg ⬇️🦮

Ludicrous Display - 36pts

Roldan, Roldan, Roldan, what have we here? The mustiest performance of the week goes to the co-founder of Bowser's Garage. A victim of the classic delete the app and forget about it special, Roldan now finds himself in 42nd place only in front of Jake Jennings, who is creeping up the back after starting on week 2. Could Roldan be heading for his first jersey purchase, it's looking more and more likely! Still riding the Salah train, with near blanks across the board, expect somewhat of a bounceback now that the app is on his phone again at least.

Welp, that's it for now, hope you enjoyed. And now...time for 8 FROSTIES!!!🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦
