Well everyone, this is it, the final recap of the season!๐ฑ I truly can't believe it's come to an end, and what an absolutely craaaaazy season it was. Some epic highs, some epic lows, a looooooot of frosties๐ฆ, and as promised 38 gameweeks of pure banter. Thanks everyone for yet another wonderful year, and for keeping the buzz high throughout the year in my first season as commissioner ๐. Give yourselves a big pat on the back (maybe treat yourself to one of those frosties). As we crown a new winner for the year, I'm already looking forward to next!
EPL end of the season standings + Week in Review
Now normally we'd recap the whole week here. But given Arsenal already ruined all the fun, let's take a look at how the final standings shook out for the EPL and who qualified for what!
The top 8 is settled and a few shocking endings have led us to the following. Brighton, Sunderland, and Bournemouth all qualify for EUROPE! Even Palace have a shot at the Europa league if they can lock in and get the W against Rayo. I'm rooting for you, Jean-Phillipe! Sadly (for them), Brentford, Chelsea (after a shocking L to SUNDERLAND), Fulham, Newcastle, and Everton (YOU HAD ONE JOB!!) are left to lick their wounds, missing out entirely on all European football next season. But hey, maybe they'll pull a Man U and focus on the league so hard next year they can crack the top 8 again to compete with Europe's best. I think Mr. Xabi Alonso will steer the ship in the right direction for Chelsea. And surely Eddie Howe does better next year not having to worry about getting 8-3'ed.
Big congrats to Pool, Villa, Man U (back and better than ever), Man City, and of course the champions themselves Arsenal for locking in spots in the Champions league next year. And a big shoutout to Bruno for sticking through the hard times and delivering a truly historic season. And lastly, while it was undoubtedly a down year for all but Arsenal, they won unfair and not square, but a W is a W nonetheless ๐๐ง
On the other side of things, in what was the most entertaining relegation battle in years, to West Ham and performative Declan Rice's dismay, Tottenham, thanks to Peppa Pig, RDZ, and whole lotta luck, have survived to fight another year in the prem after going back to back 17th place. Surely better days are ahead for them right?? Or are they doomed for yet another year of pain? Whatever happens next, the people won't forget how hard they celebrated after staying up, like they had just secured a treble ๐
Wow, what. a. season. Now before we get into the End of Year awards, let's do one more Top and Bottom Dawg for the road shall we?
Rassmiss Goalund - 75 pts
In a shocking turn of events and some unfortunate stat corrects, John B juuuuuust missed out on the Newcastle Award, placing 23rd overall. But hey, he can keep his head up high knowing you're walking out on top...for the week. Solid outings from Porro (10), a triple captain Bruno (42 points)! and Kelleher (6) to get the bulk of the points. Nicely done sir! (Now go celebrate with one of them frosties you won!!)
Ending us in style in one of the worst performances of the season...it's Mr Patty Blaze and the infamous Blaze Bots! The case of the week 38 flubabies got him, as 5 of his players blanked, Tel was his top scorer with 3pts, truly disgusting stuff here.
End of Season Awards!!! โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ
And now, the moment we've alllll been waiting for!! But first, before we officially crown our 25/26 winner, let's announce the โญ๏ธBonus Starsโญ๏ธ!
First, the FPL Cup Final results are in...let's see who took home the silverware this year (here's some Mario Party 2 music to go along with it if you wanna set the mood):

WE'VE DONE IT!! WE'VE SHOCKED THE WORLD!! MILLIESBROUGH ARE YOUR 25/26 FPL CUP CHAMPIONS ๐ฅน๐ฅน๐ฅน๐ฅน๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐!! All hope looked lost in the final, but sometimes you must speak things into existence. As I prayed for a Mateta garbage time goal, a miracle happened in the 88th minute. Watch how it allll unfolded in the most legendary moment in Milliesbrough history to date! Absolutely electric scenes โก๏ธ
Special thanks to Jake Jennings and Cullen for helping fund the Cup prize! And not to mention the epic parade that happened earlier today. While this moment will live on forever in the minds of the Milliesbrough faithful, let's also not forget Niall trying to bench boost against me in GW36 and epic failing so hard that he lost ๐๐๐.
Anyways, next, we have the controversial Newcastle Award! For the person who finished DEAD MIDDLE! Congrats on the middest possible season of all 43 participants! You win a Trippier Auto Gold Card and 25 big ones!
Congrats to.....ROY!! Who after a minor stat correction has finessed his way into 22nd! Sometimes being Mid pays off!
Next, we have Der Henkenstein, the award that goes to the highest scoring Henkhaus in all the land...congrats to...none other than newly engaged...MIKEY HEEEEEENK!!! Just barely beating Henkdad after a big week. Nicely done, sir!

HE'S GONE AND DONE IT...CONGRATS TO MR. NEWCASTLE HIMSELF...THE LEGENDARY CAPTAIN BEEF!!!!!! The champ is unfortunately here. 1st in the league and an impressive 29,282th in the ENTIRE WORLD..After claiming the lead early on in the season, he never let go thanks to Bruno G and the gang. And while 42 of us are salty about it, there could only be one Super Star this year:
Congrats. buddy! And in addition to the prize $$$, you may be wondering, what is the mystery gift??? Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see for when it arrives but let's just say it's sure to boost our World Cup chances!
38 DOWN, 0 TO GO!!!๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
